More HIGH SIERRA Problems. Problems in the NEWEST Fall Creators update … and more!!

There have been additional problems with High Sierra – And it was revealed last week you can log in as ‘root’ with NO password onto any mac running High Sierra.
Thats a WOWSER of a flaw – and Apple has been working on it.  It DOES require access to your Mac but if you have upgraded – you might consider a downgrade (we can help and hopefully you did make a full TM backup before the upgrade!)

Also – Apple has introduced a NEW filesystem – which will automatically be invoked if you have a Solid State Drive in your Mac.  High Sierra will automatically reformat it as APFS not the normal HFS – and other macs will NOT BE ABLE TO READ THIS DRIVE!!!
This is being done for performance – it makes solid state drives perform better.
If you DONT have an SSD nothing will be done.  But if you do, the upgrade is pretty much ONE WAY!

Windows 10 – FALL CREATORS UPDATE – issues!

There are a few minor issues with the newest Windows 10 update which may cause the upgrade to fail or have odd login problems after the upgrade. These are not too serious and we can certainly get them straightened out!  Drop by the shop!

JUST A NOTE – We ARE Located in the Mount Vernon Antique Center after all – and we do some odd things as well!

We sort of backed in to the antique business – through doing eBay consignment sales for customers – and we have found ourselves helping folks sell vintage stuff they need to dispose of – and we also buy Silver and Gold and know a LOT about coins – and we pay much more than the pawn shops or jewelry shops.
Got anything you are curious about – we can determine what pretty much ANYTHING is.  And if you have silver or gold and need it converted into money we can help!
We can test anything you think MIGHT be silver or gold as well 🙂

I still also have:
A Dell Inspiron 13 7000 series – 13 inch, SSD, i7, flip-over convertible.
A Retina 2013 15in Macbook Pro – with 500gb SSD (or 256 SSD)

also up for adoption a nice 2015 Mac Air, A Retina 13 2013-2014 Macbook pro, A 2010 27in Imac, and various others!
And I even have a 2011 (and a 2010 one as well) 17in Macbook pro – IMHO the best Macbook apple ever build (on which this is being written!)
A nice HP 13in X360 convertible!

A SUPER cute Lenovo Yoga Pro.  This is a 10in android tablet – that has a built in DLP Projector – and can project the desktop onto any surface 🙂

Can’t for the life of me think of a use for it myself – but Its SUPER cute!
And many more!

Cameras in the adoption corner!
I have 2 Canon 7D cameras – their semi-professional models.  And a Nikon D5200 (also semi professional)
Just got in a Sony A6300 mirrorless camera – and we have various others like Canon T2i, T3i, T4i and Nikon ones as well.
We also have some older film cameras for the vintage buff –

and a VERY NICE Museum piece – a Kodak 2-D from about 1909 in GREAT Condition complete with its original black box and the black cape you throw over your head to take the shot!  (The bellows have been replaced but other than that its all original) SUPER NICE shape according to a customer who is in the large format photography group

Enjoy folks hope you all enjoy my musings!  Any and all comments are very welcome!
