CORONAVIRUS UPDATE – TopTech is designated as an ESSENTIAL BUSINESS and will remain OPEN!
10-7 Monday through Saturday.. And Sunday by appointment.
We have been designated ESSENTIAL RETAIL – as we repair and service computers and phones! Per the official Virginia government announcement recently.
Maryland computer store have NOT been so lucky! WE STAY OPEN AND READY TO HELP YOU!
And – in almost all circumstances there are LESS than 10 folks in the store so we will not expose you needlessly!
All of use are well currently – no sign of the VIRUS!
Meanwhile – BEST BUY has SUSPENDED Geek Squad home visits till April 20!
Apple Stores are all closed till (at least) March 27!
WE ARE OPEN to serve the metro area. We can go anywhere, do anything that is needed in this troubled time!
WE CAN DO HOME VISITS AND CURBSIDE PICKUPS AND DELIVERIES!
If you need an oncall visit, its usually $120 for first hour, $90 thereafter. For the time being we will drop the charge to $90 per hour
to help customers who are concerned about bringing the system in!
Onsite pickups will be charge $40 (for reasonably near Alexandria) and maybe up to $60 for further afield!
We will pick up the system disinfect it at the shop, and do that again before it is returned!

Gives then $80 right NOW, and I can either use it later myself or give it to a friend! Of course if they dont survive – well at least I tried!

CORONAVIRUS MORE IMPLICATIONS – for us and the US!
Having more time to think on the implications – and they are indeed dire.
Its not clear – to me at least – WHEN things will return to as they used to be!
Will you go to a theater and get packed in like sardines? Even when the virus has passed?
I’m not sure theaters will ever recover! Maybe not live concerts!
How about Mass Transit? Suddenly this does not seem like such a good idea, does it?
And the progressive goal – basically of everyone living like ants in a huge Gigapolis. Does not
sound so good, does it? Anything where large populations are packed together – is tailor made
for this kind of catastrophe!
Airlines will surely be bailed out. But are the taxpayers really going to bail out Casinos??
And – though I’m NOT a conspiratorialist, honest – think on this for a second.
What if COVID-19 WERE a Chinese bio-weapon??
PRETTY DAM EFFECTIVE wasnt it? It has damaged and disrupted our economy, our society, in ways
that will take years to ‘recover’ – if ever! All starting in a meat marked in Wuhan. Kncked TRILLIONS off our
GDP! Blasted the stock market. Destroyed GLOBAL trade and markets.
Could it have been any more devastating if it HAD been a weapon?
NOW – Imagine what a REAL bio-weapon would do to this country! One with lethality not 1%, but 10%? 20%?
It would be the end of us as a functioning country. Society would dissolve into tribalism! The great cities,
east and west coast would be abandoned. The ‘heartland’ would be where all would be headed.
What would wealth be worth? Money would be valueless. Gold? Silver? What would you trade for a 30 day supply of food?
Think of what hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes go for now! Multiple that by hundreds, thousands.
And our veneer of civilization would collapse. High moral values would collide with desperation. And lose!
We need a Manhattan type project – to handle the NEXT COVID-20?? One which MIGHT be a weapon.
Go watch The Andromeda Strain. Wonderful Michael Crichton film from the 70s. Apply to today. Consider!
